Mediation Like A Fox is written by Stefanie Kechayas, who is not an owl, despite the photo…
…It is a place of analysis and criticism of the latest news and developments in new media and the cultural world. If those terms seem vague, it’s because they are. Mediation Like A Fox covers everything from new tech developments to discussions around ‘old’ media and journalism’s place in the contemporary landscape, along with bits of news and reviews of software, film and TV, music and websites.
Why so broad? There are two reasons. One is that I (Stef, your humble author) happen to be interested in ALL these topics, the other is that all these topics are interconnected. These days, if there’s a new social media website, for example, there will probably be some sort of interesting tech development as well as a new socio-cultural development to go along with it. The connections between topics are just as interesting as the topics themselves.
Obviously, Mediation Like A Fox is a blog and allows comments, so please feel welcome to discuss and debate stories. Comments are, of course, mediated. Spam and offensive comments will not be approved.
Mediation Like A Fox’s name comes from combining a mostly academic term with a pop cultural reference, something that happens a lot here because I go to a lot of uni and watch a lot of TV.

I live in Melbourne, Australia, and have a Master of Global Media Communication from the University of Melbourne. This blog started as a requirement of one of my subjects, and was originally for discussing issues around web publishing. I decided to keep the blog going, but change its focus slightly.
I enjoy drinking coffee and wine (not together) and I’m addicted to Lolcats and Facebook.
James shares with Stef a passion for referring to himself in the third person.
Yeah…I’m rethinking that. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
I like coffee and kittens too, in that order!
